As a result of the meeting, a memorandum on cooperation and partnership was signed with a view to cooperation for the implementation of the investment project called “Development of the Multifunctional Rehabilitation Centre InterMedicalEcoCity” on the Arabat Spit (Kherson Region, Ukraine), and the development of tourist and logistical infrastructure and a world-class recreational cluster.

In connection with the execution of the Memorandum, the parties considered possibilities of cooperation in the area of development and use of geothermal sources of the Arabat Spit, one of the most environmentally pristine nature reserves of Ukraine, as well as options for further development of sanatorium and spa treatment facilities on site in compliance with international standards, together with the introduction of best rehabilitation practices using state-of-the-art medical equipment.

This natural reserve is the world’s longest spit surrounded by the healing waters of the Azov Sea and Lake Sivash, which stand comparison to the Dead Sea in terms of its beneficial properties. Mineral water sources and hot geysers are widely available on the spit. The healing properties of black and blue clay, which massively cover the bottom and shores of the Lake Sivash, are difficult to overestimate in the treatment and prevention of a large number of diseases, including chronic ones. A high concentration of lake salts and a one-and-a-half-metre high hot water geyser gushing out of the ground with a temperature of 60 to 80 degrees enhance the natural mineral healing resources of the site.
