30th annual meeting of the European Academy of Childhood Disability

On 28-31 of May 2018 in Tbilisi took place the 30th annual meeting of the European Academy of Childhood Disability.

This scientific organization connects more than 700 professionals of various specialties from 40 countries: paediatricians, neuropaediatricians, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, speech therapists, psychologists, nurses, social workers and special-needs teachers. The theme of this year’s meeting was: “Together we are stronger”, to underline the importance of experience and knowledge exchange between European countries.

Specialists of the International Clinic of Rehabilitation participated in the meeting and prepared the instructional course “Rehabilitation computer games for children with cerebral palsy”. During the course, participants not only adopted the experience of integration of computer games into the rehabilitation process, but also played the games themselves.

International Clinic of Rehabilitation also presented two posters: “Influence of the spinal manipulation on muscle spasticity in cerebral palsy: a randomized controlled trial” and “Impairment of neurological ontogenesis in children with autism spectrum disorders”. Both posters are published in “Developmental medicine and neurology” – one of the most influential journals in the field of child neurology(https://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/abs/10.1111/dmcn.13790).

Another pleasant surprise for participants of the conference was reception at the Presidential Palace of Georgia. Giorgi Margvelashvili greeted the participants, expressed his support and wished future successes in research to EACD.

Closing ceremony passed with feeling of urge to get back to work, because in one year European Academy of Childhood Disability will meet again, this time in Paris.
