Rules of crossing the border of Ukraine by foreign citizens

Since the beginning of August 2020, updated regulations for entry into Ukraine will apply to both Ukrainian and foreign citizens.

Dear Patients, Parents and Carers,

Since the beginning of August 2020, updated regulations for entry into Ukraine will apply to both Ukrainian and foreign nationals.

Please keep in mind the following:

  1. When entering Ukraine, it is mandatory to have medical insurance (insurance policy) covering COVID-19 treatment in Ukraine with you. Such medical insurance must be taken out in electronic or paper form from a Ukrainian insurance company or an international company providing medical services in Ukraine.
  2. Ukrainian and foreign nationals and stateless persons crossing the border with the purpose of entering Ukraine from the country with a high COVID-19 incidence rate spread (so called Red Zone countries) are subject to mandatory 14-day observation/self-isolation, including by installing and activating the Diy Vdoma mobile app, and, where it is impossible to use the app, to spend the relevant observation period at a specialised observation facility.
  3. Self-isolation or observation is not required in case of a negative COVID-19 PCR test taken in Ukraine or no later than 48 hours prior to crossing the border (Resolution № 641 of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine dated July 22, 2020 -> https://www.kmu.gov.ua/npas/pro-vstanovlennya-karantinu-ta-zapr-641). In fact, starting from July 2020, you can take a COVID-19 test immediately upon arrival at the Danylo Halytskyi International Airport Lviv.
  4. Foreign nationals and stateless persons coming from the so called Green Zone countries may stay in Ukraine without self-isolation and without providing any test results, but they are also required to have a health insurance policy that covers COVID-19 treatment in Ukraine
